Château life, since May 2018.
Since May 2018, Mirande has been home to the Münch family — my brother Dominik and me, Benedikt — along with our three dogs — Menevo, Altaya and Orchid — and Savane the cat.
Dominik lives in Australia these days, so day to day it's usually me who opens the door. Our parents are often here too, in their own house on the property — Mirande is a family place through and through, just one with a single, clear point of contact.
Our greatest pleasure is, and will remain, opening the doors to guests old and new and sharing our life at the château. In the afternoon we often meet for an aperitif in a relaxed atmosphere — a good moment to chat, to get to know each other, and to ask about Burgundy: pointing you to the right village, market or cave is half the joy of living here.

The Castle Project.
In the spring of 2018, the Münch family bought a 17th-century house — built around 1660 and standing on older fortified bones — in a quiet corner of Southern Burgundy.
In the spring of 2018 a new adventure presented itself, and we left our jobs in Germany behind for what we came to call the Castle Project. In the years since we have come to know — and love — this region and its many facets, and the house has changed with us: carefully, and never at the cost of the charm that is Mirande's own. Whatever we add, it is only ever a touch of ourselves.
